Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Origami Guide (also titled Origami Guide: Learn & Fold) (“the App”) handles information. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean NitiPlay LLC, the App publisher founded by Ismail Lahniti (Morocco).

1. Who we are and what the App is

Origami Guide is a mobile learning app that teaches paper folding with visual step-by-step guides, personalized recommendations based on onboarding answers you choose, progress tracking, favorites, and an optional on-device Paper Gallery for photos of finished models.

We do not operate user accounts. There is no sign-in, no cloud profile hosted by us, and no in-app purchases in version 1.0.

2. Summary (plain language)

• Your folding progress, favorites, preferences, and gallery photos stay on your device.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• The App shows ads from Google AdMob. Advertising partners may collect device identifiers and usage data for ads, measurement, and fraud prevention, subject to your choices (including App Tracking Transparency on iOS and GDPR consent where required).
• Optional Learn / Explore features may load public educational content from third-party APIs (no account data is sent).
• Camera and Photos are used only when you choose to capture or import a creation.
• Deleting the App removes local App data from that device.

3. Information we do not collect ourselves

• No account, email sign-up, or social login inside the App.
• No payment-card details (the App is free in version 1.0; Apple would process any future App Store payments).
• No precise GPS / Precise Location permission.
• No contacts, HealthKit, or HomeKit data.
• We do not sell personal information to data brokers.

4. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following locally (for example via iOS UserDefaults / SharedPreferences and the App documents folder), not on NitiPlay servers:

• Onboarding answers and display / folder name you enter (for personalization)
• Favorites, fold progress, completed models, and last-active model
• Folding streak day markers
• Sound, haptics, and similar preferences
• Optional photos you capture or import for the Paper Gallery (image files on device)
• Short-lived caches of public educational content you browse (for example Wikipedia summaries)

This information stays on your device unless you share a photo or text through the system share sheet, or unless you back up the device with Apple (iCloud / computer backup). Uninstalling the App removes this local App storage on that device.

5. Information that may leave your device

5.1 Optional Explore & learn content

If you open Explore / Learn features, the App may request publicly available educational content over HTTPS. These requests do not include your name, gallery photos, favorites list, or onboarding questionnaire answers. Providers may include:

• Wikipedia / Wikimedia (article summaries)
• The Metropolitan Museum of Art Collection API
• Open Library
• Openverse (Creative Commons images)
• The Color API and Free Dictionary API (for light educational extras)

Apple data types that may apply: Product Interaction / browsing of public content (not linked to an identity we control). Used for App Functionality. Used for tracking: No.

5.2 Camera and Photos (optional)

If you tap Snap or Gallery after finishing a fold, the App may access the camera or photo library with your permission to save a creation into the Paper Gallery on your device. Those images are not uploaded to NitiPlay servers. You can deny or revoke Camera / Photos access in iOS Settings → Origami Guide.

5.3 System share sheet (optional)

If you choose Share, iOS / Android may send text or a photo you select to the destination you pick (Messages, Mail, social apps, etc.). That sharing is controlled by you and the destination app’s privacy policy—not by a NitiPlay backend.

5.4 Support email

If you email us, we receive the address and content you send so we can reply. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request.

5.5 Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show banner, interstitial, app-open, and rewarded ads. Google and its partners may process identifiers such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) when you allow tracking, the Identifier for Vendors (IDFV), IP address, device/app info, and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud.

• Apple data types that may apply: Device ID, Advertising Data, Product Interaction, Usage Data
• Purposes: Third-Party Advertising, Developer’s Advertising or Marketing, Analytics, App Functionality
• Linked to identity / used for tracking: may be “Yes” for advertising partners when you grant ATT / consent

On iOS we request tracking permission via App Tracking Transparency when required. In the EEA/UK and other regions where required, we show a consent form via Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can change privacy choices in Setting → Ads → Privacy choices when available, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. You may also watch a rewarded ad to pause ads temporarily inside the App.

6. Tracking, advertising, and analytics

• AdMob may use advertising identifiers subject to ATT and UMP consent
• We do not operate a separate analytics SDK beyond what AdMob / Apple may provide
• We do not sell personal information

If you opt in to share diagnostics with Apple through iOS Settings, Apple may provide crash or performance data according to your Apple privacy settings.

7. How we use information

• Operate the App (remember progress, favorites, preferences, and gallery)
• Personalize recommendations from onboarding answers stored on device
• Load optional educational content you request
• Show ads and measure ad performance via Google AdMob
• Respond to support emails you send us
• Comply with law and App Store rules

8. Sharing

We share information only with:

• Google AdMob and advertising partners (for ads, as described above)
• The public content providers listed above when you use Explore / Learn
• Apple or Google for App Store / Play distribution and OS permissions
• Website hosts for these legal pages (for example Vercel)
• You, when you intentionally share via the system share sheet

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share data with data brokers.

9. Retention

On-device data remains until you clear it (where the App provides a control), delete gallery items, or uninstall the App. Third-party content providers may retain standard web request logs according to their own policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed.

10. Children’s privacy

The App teaches paper folding and may be enjoyed by families. For privacy purposes, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for marketing or tracking, and we do not require an account. Parents or guardians who believe a minor shared personal information by email should contact us; we will delete support emails we hold. You can also remove local App data by deleting the App.

11. Your choices and rights

• Preferences: Setting → sound, haptics, nudge preference, hints
• Gallery: delete creations in Paper Gallery
• Camera / Photos: deny or revoke in iOS Settings
• Uninstall: removes the App and its local storage on that device
• Support emails: email us to request deletion of messages you sent

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and certain US states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information we hold about you from support correspondence. Contact lhnitismail@gmail.com to exercise those rights. EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

12. International processing

When you use network Explore features or email support, data may be processed on servers outside your country (including by the providers named above and our email provider). NitiPlay LLC is based in Morocco.

13. Security

We take reasonable steps appropriate for a local-first app (including HTTPS for network calls). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
